GREETINGS JAGNATION!!!

I'm Coach Gwendolyn Johnson this is my 5th year at DeSoto Central High School and my 17th year as an educator and coach. I obtained my Ed.S in Educational Leadership and MSE in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State and my B.S. in Physical Education from Mississippi State University.

Course: Driver Education

 

Course Information:

This elective class will assist in providing basic vehicle handling skills. Driver education course will consist of a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind ­the ­wheel training or its equivalent, which may be achieved in the following ways, actual six hours behind ­the­ wheel instruction or twelve hours instruction in a State approved driver trainer simulator and three hours behind­ the­ wheel instruction Major areas of emphasis will be highway transportation system, MS Motor Vehicles Laws and Regulations, vehicle familiarization, basic control task, driving strategies, and vehicle and driver responsibility.
