Hello. My name is Gordie Rayford. I am thrilled to be part of Team DCS. Education has always been a part of me and my family's life. As early as elementary school I was glad to be part of Future Teachers of America, and in high school, I was honored to serve as President of the Young Educators Society, a club that encourages careers in education and honors our current educators.

I am a graduate of The University of Mississippi- Ole Miss (Oxford) where I majored in the humanities, social science and communications fields, graduating with four degrees. I furthered my advanced study education in graduate school at Arkansas State University (Jonesboro, AR).

I have taught within the elementary, high school and alternative education settings at various grade levels. I am certified in several areas, and have taught social studies, English and special education during my career. Some honors in education include, my induction in Pi Gamma Mu, International Honors Society for the Social Sciences.
