College and Career Readiness and AP U.S. Government and Politics

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

I will be teaching College and Career Readiness and AP U.S. Government and Politics for the 2022-2023 school year. I am also the department chair for the Social Studies Department and an advisor for the DCHS Ambassadors.  I attended DeSoto County Schools, and I am a graduate of Southaven High School.  I have a bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Mississippi and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State University.  This is my 15th year at DCHS.

College and Career Readiness

College and Career Readiness (CCR) is  designed to provide students with planning, resources, and skills to help them be successful in their postsecondary transition to college and the workforce.

There is no textbook for the CCR class.

CCR students will be completing assignments on paper and electronically this year. Schoology will be the online platform used for certain course assignments and assessments as well as for class communication.
