Devin Burgess
Asst. Band Director
Courses Taught: 6th grade beginning percussion methods, 7th grade intermediate percussion methods, 8th grade advanced percussion methods. High school marching band and percussion ensemble.

Education
Devin earned his Bechelors degree in instrumental and general music education from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 2009.
Experience
Biography
Devin is currently the Percussion Coordinator at Desoto Central Schools where he arranges for the Pride of Desoto Central Marching Band and directs the percussion ensemble. He also teaches general music at Desoto Central High School and assists with the entire band program 6-12. He is the founder, artistic director, and arranger for Desoto Central Indoor Percussion which competes in the MIA circuit.
Before traveling to Mississippi he was the Front Ensemble Coordinator for Shadow Armada Marching Band from 2010-2012, and Shadow Indoor Percussion from 2009-2012. Other teaching experience includes Waukesha North Marching Band, Fort Atkinson Marching Band, UW-Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band, Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, and Capital Sound Drum and Bugle Corps.
As a freelance composer and arranger Devin has written for Waukesha North High School, Shadow Armada Marching Band, Shadow Indoor Percussion, and the Lake Comorant High School Marching Band. He is currently working on an original composition for wind band and has completed many pieces for percussion ensemble.
Devin
marched with Capital Sound Drum and Bugle Corps in 2005, Colts Drum and
Bugle Corps from 2006-2007, and Gateway Indoor Percussion in 2008. His
concert experience includes performing with the Beloit Janesville
Symphony Orchestra and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. He was selected
as the soloist for the UW-Platteville concerto aria competition on
marimba in 2005.
