After attending the University of Central Arkansas in Conway for three years, I completed my final year at Missouri Southern State College with a B.S.E. English.

I taught 6 years at Carthage High School in Carthage, Missouri; 14 years at College Heights Christian School in Joplin, Missouri; and then moved to Mississippi in 2005 and began teaching at DeSoto Central High School.  I  spent the majority of these years teaching 9th and 11th grade English/Language Arts.  In addition, I spent a couple of years as an adjunct professor at Missouri Southern State College teaching ELL classes to foreign exchange students.

Student Help for Schoology:

In most cases, your students have already been logging in to Schoology and (hopefully) their Office 365 account and should not have issues.
Nonetheless, to help expedite the resolution of any issues your students may have in the following days, I offer this brief list of troubleshooting tips:
General Password tips for students
Their default password is the school Mascot plus their 6-digit birthdate in the format MMDDYY.
Some students may have changed schools or reset their password. It may no longer be the default. In which case:

If they have changed their email password, have them use whatever password they have been using.
If they are at a different school than they were at the beginning of the year, have them try the mascot from the old school.
If students have issues logging in to Schoology:
  1. Their Schoology login is their Office 365 / Email login. They need to use their complete email address as their username.

  2. If they are unable to log in to Schoology, the first question should be, "Can the student log in to Office 365 at

    1. If they can log in to Office 365, but not Schoology, they need to open a Help Ticket for “Schoology Help Needed.”

    2. If they cannot log in to either, and none of the above password tips work, they should open a Help Ticket for “Username / Password Issues,” and select “Email / Office 365” for the account type.

  3. Schoology will not allow them to log in if the time or date on their device is incorrect.
